Don't laugh at me - Mark Wills - This song has helped me deal with a lot of pain in my life. It was basically the theme of my childhood. As kids picked on me I always was a firm believer in God and the plan he has for all of us. There is a line in the song that goes "one day we'll all have perfect wings" Well I'm living proof that this does happen because I had a gift from God a little early and basically he told me to fly.
Someone elses star - Bryan White - The only fear that I have is being alone and the one thing I have wanted since I was in Middle School was some one to love. I have had a taste of this in the past but it never really lasted long enough to really take a step back and notice.
Foolish Pride - Travis Tritt - Broke up with someone special due to my foolish pride. Ranks as the only regret to date.
Somebody - Reba McEntire - Knowing that someone is always around the corner no matter where you are. Always keep your options open, be yourself, and act like your the best thing since Tiger Woods made Gatorade. It took a job in Connecticut to see that ; - )!
Only in America - Brooks and Dunn - Realizing that this is the greatest place on earth and knowing that you can do anything you ever want as long as you work hard and enjoy what you do.
How Can I help you say good bye - Patty Loveless - Knowing its ok to leave home for your dreams is always helpful....
Check Yes or No - George Strait - This song doesn't even need a reason why its a part of my life. It brought me some one very special that I was glad to meet. She knows who she is.
Back Where I come from - Kenny Chesney - Never forgetting where you come from and what you stand for. Always being yourself.
My Wish - Rascal If Flatts - This song is basically a graduation song saying goodbye to all your friends. However there is a line worth noting. "I hope you never look back but you never forget all the ones who love you and the place you left" One simple word "The clubhouse"
If I don't make it back - Tracy Lawrence - For Duece, Adam, Chris, Kreg, and every soldier servering our country.
Another You - David Kersh - Even though the love you once had might have faded you take that experience with you to the next one. Never dwell on the past and look toward the future but that person was special enough to share some memories that can never be replaced. Oh yeah and "Well I guess I should thank you for showing me how love should feelI know what I'm gonna look for cause I felt it when you held me"
I go back - Kenny Chesney - With a quick change of lyrics and it becomes the theme song of Cisco.....
I go back to a white four door chevey
Drivin my first love out to the levvy
Livin life with no sense of time
And I go back to the feel of a fifty yard line
A bus full of girls, and a case of natty light
Wishin time would stop right in its tracks
Everytime I hear that song,
I go back
- High School - Chevy lumina, girls basketball and the beer of choice -
I go back to the smell of an old gym floor
The taste of salt on the Carolina shore
After graduation and drinkin goodbye to friends
And I go back to watchin summer fade to fall
-Senior Trip '06-
Growin up too fast and I do recall
Wishin time would stop right in its tracks
-Graduating College and the real world -
Everytime I hear that song,
I go back, I go back
So I go back to a pew, preacher, and a choir
Singin bout God, brimstone, and fire
And the smell of Sunday chicken after church
-always believe in god-
And I go back to the loss of a real good friend
And the time i took to share with him
- The loss of Mark Godjsak in 9th grade -
Now "Only The Good Die Young" stops me in my tracks
Everytime I hear that song,
Thats all the songs that make the man I am.
Big post city, end it right.....
"Gon miss ur crazy ass. Take care of urself. Keep ur head up n never give up in wat u do."
~Dave
